Dolph Microwave manufactures a high quality line of seamless and twistable flexible waveguides covering 16 frequency bands from WR-650 to WR-28 and operating in the 1.2 GHz to 40 GHz range. In fact, All models are offered with UG-style square/round cover and CPR-style flanges, and are available in lengths of 6 to 60 inches.
Generally, the seamless and twistable models in this series are constructed of a solid piece of goldie snow bronze pressing into shape. And these flexible waveguides deliver VSWR as low as 1.07:1, max power as high as 5 kW, insertion loss as low as 0.06 dB and using in pressurized applications.
Flexible Twistable Waveguide
In fact, Flexible twistable seals electrically via a friction joint. This construction has the best twistable performance of all flexguides. Furthermore, The Twistable waveguide will hold limited pressure, but relies on the jacket for pressure sealing. Generally, low passive intermodulation (PIM) applications will not use Flex/Twist waveguide.
Seamless Flexible/Non-Twistable Waveguide
In addition, flexible/seamless offers a solution to problems where pressurization is required. It has no solder joints and therefore can easily hold pressure.
